  • Catalogue Entry: Administrative decision making and policy development often require the analysis of quantitative data. This course will introduce students to descriptive and inferential statistics often used in policy environments so that they will be effective data users and interpreters. Students will be taught how to use and present descriptive statistics.

  • Catalogue Entry: Analyzes governing institutions and the process of modern government within Canada as a means of enhancing a student's understanding of policy formulation and implementation.   • Catalogue Entry: The course is designed to introduce students to the study of public policy and the policy process through a Northern and Indigenous lens. The first part of the course explores fundamental theories of policymaking and the stages of the policy cycle. The second part is devoted to examining specific areas of policy, including social, health, indigenous, environmental, and fiscal policy as they apply to Northern and Indigenous contexts.

  • Catalogue Entry: This course will introduce learners to current and historical trends in local migration patterns and their relationship to the development of the settlement sector.

Learners will explore strategies for mediating conflict and developing client action plans when working with newcomers struggling with trauma and culture shock.
